Lillian Carlotta Keech was born in Beaufort County, North Carolina on March 3rd, 1914 and died on the 8th of July, 1983. She had five brothers and eight sisters, all deceased. They are pictured along with family pictures below.
Lillian Carlotta Keech is deceased and was one of fourteen children born of parents, William Major Keech and Ida Leah Waters. Lillian was born in Beaufort County, North Carolina on the 3rd day of March, 1914 and died on the 8th of June, 1983 in Chesapeake, Virginia. She is buried in the Keech Cemetery in Beaufort County, North Carolina. On December 22nd, 1934, Lillian married Ronald Armstead Linton, Sr. and they had three children, Ronald Armstead Linton, Jr., Leah Ann Linton (Now known as Leah Ann Hines) and William Thomas Linton. Lillian's husband, Ronald, died after she did on the 19th of June, 1990. Lillian was a homemaker and a Christian.
The Pirate has lost many people in his life. His father and step-father are both deceased; his grandfather as well. But nobody ever hurt as much as the day he lost his grandmother, his Me-Ma, Lillian Carlotta Keech Linton. Finding out by telephone while he worked, The Pirate left and headed home. He'd taken a bus in that day and he did what seemed was right to him at the time, he began walking home. Looking back, perhaps he should have started by calling a taxi because at some point, he stopped at a 7 Eleven and called for one. The Pirate didn't have enough money on him for a cab, but the can driver took pity on him and gave him a ride home for free. I don't think people do that anymore. It just sounds very scam-like in today's world. Anyway, The Pirate made it home with tear-stained eyes and hugged his grandfather.
Me-Ma meant a lot to The Pirate. She practically raised him at times when his mother worked during the days. She took time to play cards and teach The Pirate to read. She was a God fearing woman and it's a wander her picture isn't listed along with the definition of what a real Christian is. She certainly was that. The Pirate has certainly forgotten a great deal about her life now that he's much older, but he does remember the terrible accident that she and his grandfather got into when The Pirate was just a child. That accident left her in a great deal of pain she battled for the rest of her life.
The Pirate loved his Me-ma so much he wrote a song for her, a Christmas song. If you'd care to watch the video on it, it's toward the bottom of this page. Lillian Carlotta Keech Linton was a remarkable human being and the day she passed from this world was a day the world was just a little bit dimmer. In The Pirate's eye, it took the love of his wife, Lady Michelle, to brighten it up once again. If she's up there, and if there is an up there, The Pirate believes his Me-Ma would have been proud of him for finding such a wonderful wife as Lady Michelle.
