When Reverend John William Linton was born on the 29th of August, 1828, in Sidney Crossroads, Beaufort, North Carolina, his father, Lemuel Linton, was 43 and his mother, Mary Saunders, was 39. He married Giddy Ann Hawkins in 1850, in Bath, Beaufort, North Carolina. They were the parents of at least 1 son and 3 daughters. Later, he would marry Anne Eliza Higson (October 1st, 1855-March 22nd, 1946) on the 10th of December in 1878. They were the parents of 8 children, one of whom is Oscar Thomas Linton, the direct descendent in The Pirate's lineage. Reverend John William Linton lived in Beaufort, North Carolina in 1860 and Bath, Beaufort, North Carolina in 1880. He died on 9 January 1900, in North Carolina, United States, at the age of 71, and was buried in Sidney Crossroads, Beaufort, North Carolina, United States.
